The Technical Advisor to the Ekiti Governor on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, recently shed light on the absence of Ekiti Queens from their round of 32 fixture against Rivers Angels. This absence led to Rivers Angels being awarded a walkover victory at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Thursday evening.

Osetoba explained that Ekiti Queens had been in a phase of restructuring immediately following the conclusion of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season. The decision was made in order to enhance the team's performance and readiness for future competitions.

"We have intensified efforts to restructure the team and aim to better prepare them for the upcoming season," Osetoba stated. Despite the setback, she expressed confidence in the team's potential for improvement and success in the future.

During her tenure as Technical Advisor to the Governor, Osetoba encountered several challenges that needed to be addressed promptly. She acknowledged the need for thorough restructuring and management of the team to ensure its competitiveness and success in future competitions.

Furthermore, Osetoba extended sincere apologies to all football stakeholders and supporters of Ekiti Queens FC for their absence in the match against Rivers Angels. She assured them of the government's commitment to properly address the issues faced by the team and implement necessary improvements.

As part of the restructuring process, Osetoba emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by Ekiti Queens during the previous season. She highlighted the need for proper planning and management to ensure the team's success and competitiveness in future competitions.

In addition to focusing on the restructuring of Ekiti Queens, Osetoba pledged to implement improvements across other sports in the state. This comprehensive approach aims to elevate the overall standard of sports development in Ekiti State and foster a culture of excellence and achievement.
