German Bundesliga club, Eintracht Frankfurt, has shifted its focus away from the potential transfer of Gift Orban in recent weeks.
Orban, 21, was initially considered as a replacement for French superstar Randal Kolo-Muani, who left Commerzbank Arena to join Kylian Mbappé's Paris Saint-Germain.
Although Orban's name was mentioned in discussions within the Tottenham hierarchy as a possible replacement for Harry Kane, who moved to Bayern, no concrete developments have emerged.
According to Sport Bild, Dino Toppmöller's team is still in search of a striker to fill the gap left by Kolo-Muani. However, they now believe that Orban may not be the ideal fit.
The publication revealed that the diminished interest from Die Adler is not attributed to a decline in Orban's form but rather because they already have a player of a similar profile in Omar Marmoush.
The Egyptian striker, acquired by Frankfurt on a free transfer in the summer, has impressively scored six goals in eleven games for the 2022 Europa League winners, including a notable double against Borussia Dortmund.
While Orban has netted three goals in the Belgian top-flight this season, he has recorded five hat-tricks in the last eight months for KAA Gent.
Despite his promising form, Orban faced a setback when he earned his first national call-up in September. Unfortunately, he couldn't make his debut due to an injury sustained in training during the Super Eagles' 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
