Edo Queens Target Winning Start Against Ghetto Tigers Queens in Federation Cup Clash

Edo Queens FC will begin their 2026 President Federation Cup campaign on Monday, May 25, with a Round of 32 fixture against Ghetto Tigers Queens FC at the Akure Township Stadium, Ondo State.

The Benin-based side enter the contest eager to make a strong statement after narrowly missing out on a place in the final of the 2025 edition, where they suffered a 2-0 semi-final defeat to Nasarawa Amazons.

Now presented with another opportunity, coach Moses Aduku and his players are fully focused on securing a positive result against Lagos-based Ghetto Tigers Queens in what will be the first competitive meeting between both sides.

Despite the unpredictable nature of cup competitions, Edo Queens are widely considered favourites due to their experience, tactical discipline, and overall squad quality. The team has continued to earn praise for its organisation, cohesion, and attacking style of play.

A victory in Akure would send Edo Queens into the Round of 16 as they continue their quest to end their long wait for President Federation Cup glory.

Backed by the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the team is also expected to use the competition as preparation for the upcoming Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six.
