 
                     
                     
                     
                     
                                            The stage is set for another thrilling season of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, as the 2025/2026 campaign officially kicks off on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the league organizers unveiled the new season’s draws, promising renewed rivalries and fierce competition among Nigeria’s top women’s football clubs.
Among the leading contenders, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin—one of the country’s most formidable sides—will compete in Group A, alongside Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Adamawa Queens, Pacesetter Queens, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels, Ibom Angels, and Costmog Ladies.
The former WAFU Champions are entering the new season with high expectations and a strong sense of determination. Known for their attacking flair and disciplined play, Edo Queens are prepared to challenge traditional powerhouses Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels for top honors and a place in the Super 6 tournament.
Speaking after the AGM, Edo Queens General Manager, Rollanson Odeh, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the new campaign.
“Thank God the new season is about to begin. For us at Edo Queens, we are fully prepared. The AGM was successful, and all clubs agreed that the league will commence in November,” he said.
“We just completed a preseason tournament in Yenagoa, and our technical crew will fine-tune the areas that need improvement. Edo Queens are ready to make the state proud this season.”
Supporters in Benin City are equally optimistic, tipping the Queens to top Group A and secure a return to the CAF Women’s Champions League. The team’s combination of determination, discipline, and resilience has fueled belief that they can go all the way to claim the league title.
As the countdown begins, the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership promises to deliver exciting football, fierce rivalries, and another step forward in the growth of women’s football in Nigeria.
