It was a thrilling encounter as Edo Queens FC faced Bayelsa Princesses FC in their third game of the maiden Governor Diri Douye Female Football Pre-Season Tournament, ending in a 0-0 draw against the second team of the host state.
The highly tactical match took place at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, which was filled to capacity as fans came to watch the two NWFL giants in action.
Edo Queens entered the game with full determination, dominating in all areas of play. Despite their control and attacking efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net.
Historically, Edo Queens and Bayelsa Princesses are familiar rivals in women’s football. Bayelsa Princesses is an offshoot of Bayelsa Queens, with many players drawn from the parent team, making them well-acquainted with the system.
The match was action-packed and highly competitive, earning praise from football fans for both teams’ performances. Edo Queens’ technical crew made several strategic substitutions, giving other players the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, all of whom performed admirably.
Following the draw, Edo Queens now have five points from three matches. They are set to face FC Robo tomorrow afternoon in their final group-stage game.
