Drew Uyi Named Guest Speaker at Africa Football Business Summit in Accra

FIFA-licensed football agent and sports branding strategist Dr. Drew Uyi has been named a guest speaker at the Africa Football Business Summit 2026 in Accra, Ghana. The summit will take place at the Alisa Hotel from October 22 to 23.

Uyi, the founder and managing director of DD Eleven Group Ltd, will join football executives, industry professionals and other stakeholders at the two-day event. The Football Foundation for Africa, which organises the summit, announced his participation ahead of the gathering.

The Nigerian-born football executive has experience in player representation, athlete branding and commercial development. He is registered with The Football Association in England and has worked with players, coaches and clubs on transfers, contract negotiations, endorsements and other commercial opportunities.

Uyi's contribution is expected to focus on the commercial development and international visibility of African football talent. His work in player representation and branding places him at the intersection of football and the business opportunities surrounding professional athletes.

The summit's wider focus is on helping African football capture more of the economic value generated by its players, competitions and sporting infrastructure. Organisers say the event will examine investment, governance, grassroots development, infrastructure and other areas linked to building sustainable football ecosystems across the continent.

The official summit programme includes sessions on football as infrastructure, sustainable investment, governance and institutional capacity, women's football, inclusive growth, and grassroots and youth development. These sessions will form part of discussions involving football, business, government, investment, media and development stakeholders.

Uyi has advocated stronger personal branding and commercial positioning for African footballers. The approach focuses on developing athletes beyond their performances on the pitch and creating opportunities for sponsorships, endorsements and long-term commercial partnerships.

The Football Foundation for Africa said Uyi would contribute to discussions around building a football economy in which African talent creates greater value both on and beyond the pitch. The organisers describe the 2026 summit as part of a broader effort to strengthen the business structures supporting African football.
