Doma United Target Strong Showing at Ifeanyi Ekwueme Pre-season Tournament

Doma United have intensified preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with their departure from Gombe for the 8th Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre-season Tournament in Enugu.

The Savannah Tigers will use the competition to build match fitness, strengthen team chemistry, and assess new players ahead of the new league campaign.

The club's delegation, comprising players, coaches, and officials, travelled with optimism as they seek to make a positive impression in one of Nigeria's most competitive pre-season competitions.

Newly appointed Technical Adviser, Coach Deji Ajeni, charged the players to remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the tournament, expressing confidence in the team's ability to compete strongly.

Ajeni said the tournament would provide the coaching crew with an ideal platform to evaluate the squad, fine-tune tactical plans, and prepare the team for the challenges of the forthcoming NPFL season.

Doma United have been drawn in Group B alongside former NPFL champions Enyimba FC, C&C Academy FC, and Igho FC.

The Savannah Tigers will begin their campaign against C&C Academy FC on Aug. 5 before taking on Enyimba FC the following day. They will conclude their group-stage fixtures against Igho FC on Aug. 7.

The top team in each group, alongside the runners-up, will progress to the semi-finals scheduled for Aug. 10.

The annual Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre-season Tournament has become a key fixture on the domestic football calendar, providing clubs with quality competitive matches as they prepare for the start of the NPFL season.

Doma United also expressed appreciation to their supporters and stakeholders for their continued encouragement, assuring them of the team's determination to deliver a strong performance throughout the tournament.
