2025/2026 NNL Match Day 1: Doma United Pip Kada Warriors 1–0 in Season Opener

It was a perfect start to life on the touchline for Coach Najib Ismail Mabo, who recorded his first competitive victory as Technical Adviser of Doma United FC in their opening fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

Doma United showed clear improvement and tactical maturity compared to their preseason performances, with Coach Mabo making quicker and smarter adjustments that allowed his team to dominate proceedings from the onset.

The Savannah Tigers created multiple scoring opportunities but were repeatedly denied by the defensive resilience of Kada Warriors.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 67th minute when Ramadan Bashir finished clinically, sending the home crowd into wild celebration and sealing a hard-fought 1–0 victory for Doma United.

Coach Mabo’s holistic development approach and swift tactical evolution were evident throughout the match. Despite mixed preseason results, he demonstrated impressive game-reading ability and composure, converting pressure into a positive result against a strong Kada Warriors side, who recently impressed as emerging contenders in the 2025 NNL President Cup (Kano edition).
