2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 3: Doma United Maintain Perfect Start

Doma United continued their remarkable start to the 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a convincing 2–0 victory over Enyimba FC at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, on Saturday.

The newly promoted Savannah Tigers have now won all three of their opening league matches, collecting the maximum nine points and establishing themselves as one of the early pace-setters in the campaign.

After beginning the season with a 1–0 victory over Sporting Lagos away from home, Ayodeji Ayeni’s side followed it up with another composed display against nine-time NPFL champions Enyimba.

Doma United took control of the contest in the 31st minute when Sadiq Rilwan produced a superb individual effort to beat the Enyimba defence and put the hosts ahead.

The visitors struggled to find a response as Doma United remained organised and continued to threaten on the break.

Their persistence paid off again in the 76th minute when Yusuf Fantami doubled the advantage, effectively putting the result beyond Enyimba’s reach.

The victory means Doma United have now recorded three wins from three matches, scoring three goals and conceding just one in the process.

For Enyimba, however, the result compounds a disappointing beginning to the campaign.

The People’s Elephant have now lost their opening two matches, leaving Technical Adviser Emmanuel Deutsch under mounting pressure to halt the slide.

With the season still in its early stages, Enyimba will be eager to find a quick solution, while Doma United will look to preserve their momentum as they continue their impressive return to the top flight.

Ayeni’s side have already shown that their promotion was no mere formality, and their perfect start suggests the Savannah Tigers could be a serious force in the early stages of the campaign.
