Delta Commissioner of Sports, Igali confident of Bayelsa United's safety from relegation

The Commissioner of Sports Development for Bayelsa State, Daniel Igali, has assured sports lovers that Bayelsa United will survive the relegation battle when the current NPFL season ends.


Daniel Igali gave this assurance at his office when the board of Bayelsa United paid him a courtesy visit to honor his reappointment as Commissioner by Governor Douye Diri.


The world and Olympic champion expressed joy for the opportunity given to him by Governor Diri to serve, while applauding the United board members for their show of solidarity.


"It's a joy to be welcomed back into the sports family. On behalf of myself, my family, and the ministry, I want to extend my deep appreciation to the Bayelsa United board for this official welcome ceremony."


"As you know, the Governor pays special attention to the activities of our state-owned clubs and always inquires about their happenings and current positions."


"This morning, I was on a radio station that called me from Lagos expressing fears about Bayelsa United's survival, and I assured them that Bayelsa United has no choice but to remain in the top tier."
