De Zerbi Demands Better Attacking Decisions as Spurs Draw 0-0 at Forest

Tottenham Hotspur remain without a Premier League goal this season after Roberto De Zerbi's side were held to a 0-0 draw by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday. The result gave Spurs their first point of the campaign but extended their league scoring drought to three matches.

Tottenham have now failed to score against Brentford, Newcastle United and Forest. Their only competitive goals this season came in a 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over Charlton's second-string side, highlighting the attacking problems facing De Zerbi.

The Italian believes Spurs' main weakness is not their overall performance but their decision-making in the final third. De Zerbi said his players must remain calmer and choose better options when they get close to creating decisive opportunities.

Tottenham have spent more than £300 million on new players during the transfer window. Despite that investment, the team have struggled to turn possession and attacking situations into goals as De Zerbi continues to build his squad.

De Zerbi also pointed to the limited time he has had to work with his squad. The manager said the group only started working together fully in the final stages of the transfer window, meaning tactical understanding and team organisation still need time to develop.

The visitors did not manage a shot on target at Forest. That statistic underlined the lack of cutting edge in a match where neither side produced enough quality to take control.

Forest thought they had finally broken the deadlock in the second half when Neco Williams forced the ball over the line. VAR overturned the goal after ruling that Williams had handled the ball during the move.

Forest manager Oliver Glasner strongly criticised the intervention. He argued that VAR should not overturn a decision unless there is clear and obvious evidence, claiming the officials were effectively "guessing" whether the ball had struck Williams' arm.

Williams also disputed the decision, saying he had headed the ball between his arms. The controversial moment became the main talking point from an otherwise quiet encounter.

The draw leaves Tottenham still searching for their first Premier League victory under De Zerbi this season. Forest also remain without a win, making the result a frustrating outcome for both teams as they attempt to move away from the bottom end of the table.
