Cristiano Ronaldo Set to Stay at Al-Nassr with New $200 Million Deal

Posted : 26 June 2025

Cristiano Ronaldo appears set to remain with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr after weeks of speculation about his future. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese star has agreed to a new contract with the club, putting an end to rumors about a potential departure.

While the current deal expires at the end of June, both parties have reportedly reached an understanding, and discussions are ongoing about the length of the new agreement, which could extend through to the summer of 2027.

The new contract cements Ronaldo’s position as the highest-paid player in world football, with an eye-watering annual salary of $200 million. His stay at Al-Nassr comes despite earlier hints suggesting he might leave, including a cryptic social media post in which he stated, “This chapter is over, but the story is still being written.” Since joining the team in December 2022, Ronaldo has scored an impressive 99 goals in 111 appearances, though a major trophy with the club has remained elusive.

Ronaldo’s continued presence reportedly comes with conditions. He has asked for a significant overhaul of the squad to better compete for titles.

The club has already begun that process by parting ways with coach Stefano Pioli, and veteran Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, who enjoyed massive success with Al Hilal, is being considered as a replacement. Ronaldo’s ambition remains high—not only does he want to lead Al-Nassr to silverware, but he also hopes to become the first player ever to score 1,000 career goals, with his current tally standing at 938.
