Chelsea Part Ways With Enzo Maresca After Relationship Breakdown

Chelsea Football Club and head coach Enzo Maresca have mutually agreed to part company, ending his 18-month tenure at Stamford Bridge with immediate effect. The Italian manager departs with the club sitting fifth in the Premier League after one win in their last seven league matches, amid reports of a fractured relationship with the club hierarchy and growing pressure from supporters.

Maresca’s time at Chelsea saw notable highlights, including winning the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup and guiding the Blues into the Champions League by securing a fourth-place finish last season.

 However, inconsistency in domestic form and strained relations behind the scenes ultimately led to the decision, with Chelsea believing a change will give them the best chance to get their season back on track across four competitions.

The club statement thanked Maresca for his contributions and wished him well for the future, while preparations are already underway to appoint a new head coach ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming fixture against Manchester City.
