Chelsea FC to Host First-Ever Nigerian Fan Event in Lagos With Legend Victor Moses

Posted : 02 April 2026

Chelsea Football Club has confirmed it will visit Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time in its history this May. The visit is part of the club’s international fan engagement programme, "The Famous CFC," which has been traveling across the globe throughout the 2025/26 season. This Lagos leg serves as the penultimate event of the current campaign and is hosted in partnership with MSport, the club’s official betting partner in Africa.

Headlining the event is former Chelsea and Nigeria international winger Victor Moses. The 35-year-old remains a beloved figure at Stamford Bridge, most notably playing a starring role in Antonio Conte’s 2016/17 Premier League title-winning side. Moses also enjoyed a decorated career with the Super Eagles, helping Nigeria lift the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations trophy before his international retirement in 2018.

The event in Lagos promises a comprehensive weekend of activities for the local "Blue Army." Fans will have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with Moses and enter draws to win signed club merchandise. A centerpiece of the weekend will be an official watch party hosted by MSport, allowing supporters to gather and cheer on the team during the high-stakes final weeks of the European season.

Nigeria represents the fifth stop for "The Famous CFC" this season, following successful events in cities such as Perth, Jakarta, and Bangkok. The club has significantly expanded the programme this year to reach more international markets where the Chelsea following is particularly strong. Nigeria has long been a stronghold for the club, partly due to the legacy of Nigerian stars like John Mikel Obi and Moses.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and local supporters' clubs have welcomed the news, viewing it as a major recognition of the country's passionate football culture. While Chelsea has a massive digital footprint in West Africa, this physical activation marks a milestone in the club's efforts to deepen direct connections with its African fanbase.

Registration for the event is already open via the club's official channels. Supporters are encouraged to sign up early due to the expected high demand for the limited spots available at the Lagos venue. This visit underlines the growing trend of elite European clubs bringing "legend-led" experiences directly to their most loyal overseas markets.
