Celtic Open Contract Talks to Keep Kelechi Iheanacho Beyond Current Deal

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have opened negotiations with Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho over a new contract following his impressive performances during the 2025/2026 season.

The former Super Eagles forward joined the Glasgow club last summer on a one-year contract that included an option to extend his stay. After a productive campaign, both the club and the player are now working toward a longer-term agreement ahead of the new season.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has publicly expressed his desire to retain Iheanacho, confirming that discussions are already underway. The club views the Nigerian as an important part of its plans and is keen to secure his future as preparations continue for another domestic title challenge and European campaign.
