2025 AFCON: Cameroon Targets Group F Supremacy Against Mozambique

Cameroon and Mozambique will meet in their final Group F match of the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations at the Grande Stade d’Agadir, with kick-off set for 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT).

Cameroon, historically dominant in the fixture, have won seven of the previous eight encounters, while Mozambique have recorded a single victory. This will be the first time the two sides face each other at the AFCON finals.

Cameroon opened the tournament with a win over Gabon and came from behind to draw 1–1 against Côte d’Ivoire in their second match, while Mozambique recorded their first-ever AFCON finals victory with a 3–2 win over Gabon.

Mozambique could secure progression to the knockout stage for the first time in six AFCON appearances with a win and might also advance with a draw.

Head-to-head, Cameroon have outscored Mozambique 21–6 across eight matches, averaging 2.63 goals per game, while Mozambique have kept one clean sheet to Cameroon’s four.

 Key players for Mozambique include Geny Catamo, who scored and assisted against Gabon, while Cameroon’s squad features Junior Tchamadeu, the youngest scorer for the Indomitable Lions since Christian Bassogog in 2017, and seasoned forwards Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Karl Toko Ekambi.

Cameroon remain favorites to dominate, leveraging their historical record and attacking efficiency, while Mozambique will aim to build on their recent win to achieve a historic milestone in the tournament.
