Cameroon Step Up WAFCON 2026 Preparations With Training Camp

Cameroon's senior women's national team has resumed preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with the Indomitable Lionesses opening a training camp ahead of the tournament in Morocco.

With just weeks remaining before Africa's biggest women's football competition begins, the Cameroonian squad has started intensive preparations as the coaching staff looks to build fitness, improve tactical cohesion and assemble a competitive team capable of challenging for the continental title.

The 2026 WAFCON is scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 26 to August 16. The tournament will feature Africa's top women's national teams competing for continental honours as well as valuable ranking points and international recognition.

Cameroon has been drawn in a challenging Group D alongside Ghana, Mali and Cabo Verde. The group is expected to be one of the most competitive in the tournament, with all four nations aiming to secure one of the qualification spots for the knockout stage.

The Indomitable Lionesses enter the competition with a rich history in African women's football. Cameroon has consistently been among the continent's strongest teams, reaching the final of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations on several occasions and representing Africa at the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games.
