The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the calendar for the 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, confirming the schedule that Nigerian clubs will follow in their quest for continental glory.
According to the timetable released by CAF, the 2026/27 interclub season will commence with the First Preliminary Round, with first-leg matches slated for September 4–6, 2026, while the return fixtures will be played from September 11–13.
The Second Preliminary Round will take place from October 16–18 for the first legs, with the decisive return matches scheduled for October 23–25, 2026.
Following the qualifying rounds, the group stage of both competitions will run from late November 2026 through January 2027. Matchday One is fixed for November 27–29, followed by Matchday Two (December 4–6), Matchday Three (December 18–20), Matchday Four (January 8–10, 2027), Matchday Five (January 15–17), and Matchday Six (January 22–24).
The knockout phase will begin with the quarter-finals. First-leg matches are scheduled for February 26–28, 2027, while the return legs will be played from March 5–7.
The semi-finals will follow on April 9–11 and April 16–18, with the finals of both competitions taking place between May 9 and May 31, 2027.
CAF also confirmed that the prize money remains unchanged, with the winners of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League set to receive USD 6 million, while the champions of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will earn USD 4 million.
The announcement provides Nigerian representatives with a clear roadmap as they prepare for another campaign on the African stage, where they will compete for continental honours and significant financial rewards.
The release of the competition calendar allows participating clubs to plan their domestic and continental campaigns well in advance. It also underscores the importance of preparation as Nigerian representatives seek success in Africa's premier interclub competitions.
