Bichi First FC failed to capitalize on their home advantage as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Jigawa Golden Stars in their Match Day 2 fixture of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season at the FCE Bichi New Site Stadium.
The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute through Musa Lala, who capitalized on a defensive mix-up as the home team's goalkeeper miscalculated a clearance.
Bichi First FC dominated possession and created several chances but failed to score in the first half.
The home team returned from the break with renewed energy, making two tactical substitutions: Abubakar Aliyu and Salisu Salisu replaced Gabriel Solomon and Murtala Ibrahim.
The changes paid off in the 60th minute as Adama Samuel scored from close range following a goalmouth scramble, leveling the score for Bichi First FC.
Despite their dominance, the home side could not find a winning goal, and the match ended 1-1.
Jigawa Golden Stars' Technical Adviser, Abdullahi Adamu, said, "We planned for three points, but we are happy with one. Bichi First FC is a new club with young players, but I am impressed with the technical abilities of their coaches and players. I also commend the club proprietor, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Kabir (Abba Bichi), for initiating this project, which will empower youth and foster development in Bichi and Kano. The home fans were fantastic, and their sportsmanship was commendable."
Bichi First FC's Technical Adviser, Abubakar Musa, stated, "I expected a tough match. Jigawa Golden Stars is an experienced team, but we are grateful for the point. We will work on our lapses in converting created chances. I praise our fans for their support and patience. This is a new project, but we are on track, and we will prepare for our next match against Ranchers Bees in Kaduna."
Bichi First FC's Adama Samuel was voted SWAN Kano Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
