Beyond Limits FA Edges Stormers SC to Claim 2026 Ogun State FA Cup Title

Beyond Limits Football Academy has reclaimed the Ogun State FA Cup after defeating Stormers Sports Club 2-1 in a highly competitive final. The match took place at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Saturday. This victory marks the second time in three seasons that the academy has lifted the prestigious state trophy, following their previous success in 2024.

The encounter lived up to its billing as a premier showcase of local talent. Stormers SC took an early initiative, but Beyond Limits staged a resilient comeback to overturn the deficit. The academy side displayed superior tactical discipline to hold onto their lead until the final whistle.

Ganiyu Majekodunmi, a member of the NFF Executive Board and Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, praised the finalists. He described the match as a significant advertisement for the development of the sport within the region. Majekodunmi noted that both teams showed the determination required to compete at the highest levels of Nigerian football.

The final was attended by prominent figures, including Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the National Sports Commission. His presence was highlighted by Majekodunmi as evidence of the rising standards of football in Ogun State. Olopade assisted in the medal presentation alongside Tunde Delu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development.

By reaching the final, both Beyond Limits FA and Stormers SC have earned the right to represent Ogun State in the national Federation Cup. Majekodunmi urged the players to maintain their focus as they prepare for the more intense challenges of the national stage. He emphasized that discipline and commitment would be vital for them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the state.

The 2026 final drew a massive crowd to the arena, reflecting the booming interest in grassroots football. Beyond Limits now turns its attention to the national rounds, hoping to improve on their previous campaigns. Stormers SC will also look to use this momentum to make a deep run in the upcoming national competition.
