Comeback Kings: Beyond Limit FA Stun Stormers to Claim Ogun FA Cup

Beyond Limit Football Academy delivered a spirited comeback performance to clinch the 2026 Ogun State FA Cup, edging past Nigeria National League side Stormers SC 2-1 in a gripping final decided in Abeokuta.

The academy side, making only their second title-winning appearance in the competition, showed resilience and composure after falling behind early.

Stormers SC asserted their experience in the opening half and were rewarded in the 20th minute when they broke the deadlock, leaving Beyond Limit chasing the game.

Despite the setback, Beyond Limit returned from the break with renewed intensity and purpose. Their persistence paid off just three minutes into the second half when Oreoluwa’s dangerous free kick caused confusion in the Stormers defence, resulting in an own goal that restored parity.

Buoyed by the equaliser, the academy outfit seized control of the momentum. In the 51st minute, Yusuf Omoowo produced the defining moment of the encounter, unleashing a superb long-range effort that left the goalkeeper with no chance and completed a remarkable turnaround.

From that point, Beyond Limit managed the game effectively, frustrating Stormers’ attempts to respond and preserving their slender lead through to the final whistle.

The victory not only underlines the growing reputation of Beyond Limit Football Academy as a breeding ground for talent but also secures them a place on the national stage, where they will represent Ogun State in the forthcoming President Federation Cup.
