Best Talent FC eye NNL promotion as NLO Ogun centre fixtures unveiled

Posted : 17 April 2026

Best Talent Football Club of Mowe will begin their quest for promotion with renewed determination following the release of fixtures for the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) season.

The Ogun Centre, which will be hosted at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, features a competitive lineup of 11 teams, all battling for the lone ticket to the next stage. Best Talent FC headline the group and are expected to be among the top contenders.

The Mowe-based side heads into the league still smarting from their narrow defeat in the State Federation Cup, where they lost to Lasegski FC on penalties after failing to convert several chances during regulation time. That setback, however, appears to have strengthened the squad’s resolve ahead of the new campaign.

Coach Farouk Yusuf’s team will face stiff opposition from sides such as Yewa FC, Raymond FC, M&N FC, H2U FC, Custom FC, Lasegski FC, John FC, Juvenile FC, Dino Sporting, Patriot FC, and Customs FC.

According to the league organisers, the 2026 season will kick off on April 17, with only the top team in each group advancing to face winners from corresponding centres in the next phase.

Club General Manager, Sikiru Ibrahim, expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and ambition, stating that Best Talent FC are fully focused on securing promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

“We respect every team in the group, but our target remains clear — to win the ticket and move up to the NNL,” he said.

Head coach Farouk Yusuf echoed similar optimism, highlighting the team’s preparation and determination to deliver for their supporters.

“We have been working tirelessly to ensure we are ready for the season. The players understand what is at stake, and we are confident of making a strong statement,” Yusuf noted.

Best Talent FC will kick off their campaign against H2U FC on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, with kickoff scheduled for 4 pm.

The road to the NNL begins with this high-stakes encounter, where Best Talent FC must convert their preseason preparations into immediate results. With the competitive field at the Ogun Centre, every match serves as a crucial hurdle in their promotion pursuit. The Mowe side looks to leave their recent cup disappointment behind and establish themselves as the team to beat in Abeokuta.
