Best Talent FC of Mowe continued their impressive run in the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO1) with a composed 2–0 victory over Nigeria Customs Service FC at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Saturday.
Coming into the fixture on the back of a strong opening performance, Best Talent FC once again underlined their growing reputation as one of the standout sides in the competition. Despite dominating large spells of the first half, the Mowe-based outfit were unable to convert their superiority into goals before the break.
However, the second half told a different story.
Coach Farouk’s men returned from the interval with renewed intensity, and their persistence paid off just minutes before the hour mark when Ajibade Azeez calmly broke the deadlock, finishing off a well-worked move to give his side a deserved lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 67th minute as Donald found the back of the net to cap off another fluid attacking sequence, effectively putting the game beyond the reach of the Customs side.
Defensively, Best Talent FC were once again solid and disciplined, securing their second consecutive clean sheet of the campaign—a testament to their organisation and tactical structure.
Speaking after the match, head coach Farouk struck a measured tone, praising his players while insisting that the team is still evolving.
“The fans are yet to see the best of my boys. This is a team in progress, and we must continue to grow steadily. What we are building will take time, but today’s performance shows we are on the right path,” he said.
The experienced tactician, who has previously worked with Magate FC, Fackson Tofido, and Coca-Cola Junior School, highlighted the players’ commitment to instructions and their execution on the pitch.
“They showed great discipline and understanding of our tactical approach. From the first whistle, they controlled the game and neutralized the opposition effectively. I’m proud of their effort,” he added.
Farouk also acknowledged the critical role played by the club’s management and support staff, noting that unity behind the scenes is driving the team’s early success.
“The support from the chairman and the entire management has been tremendous. From the medical team to the media crew, everyone is contributing. Football is a collective effort, and that spirit is what is pushing us forward,” he said.
With two wins, multiple goals scored, and none conceded, Best Talent FC are quickly establishing themselves as serious contenders in the NLO1 season, sending a strong message to their rivals as the campaign gathers momentum.
