Benjamin Pavard Confident of Inter Milan's Champions League Ambitions After Semifinal Victory

Benjamin Pavard expressed confidence in Inter Milan's potential after his decisive header helped secure their spot in the Champions League semifinals. The French defender's powerful goal in the 61st minute at the San Siro sealed a 4-3 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich, setting up a semifinal clash with Barcelona.

 

Pavard highlighted that Inter's success is built on the strength of their squad and staff, with no limits on how far they can go in their pursuit of a treble, which includes Serie A, the Champions League, and the Italian Cup.

 

Inter's victory came in challenging conditions, with the team battling not only Bayern but also the heavy rain and strong winds at the San Siro. Despite the harsh weather, Pavard remained optimistic, stressing that the team is determined to continue their strong run.

 

His teammate Marcus Thuram admitted that the team was physically drained after a demanding match, but the victory kept their hopes alive for a historic treble.

 

Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller expressed disappointment after his side's failure to overturn the deficit at the San Siro. Müller acknowledged the effort put in by his teammates, despite not being able to beat Inter on their home turf. The German international praised the intensity of the match but lamented the missed opportunity, especially with the final set to be held in Munich, where Bayern had hoped to reach.
