Bendel Insurance seeks more glory ahead of visit to Kaduna

All is now set for the intriguing 2023/2024 Match Day 8 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) between Bendel Insurance FC and Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna.

Niger Tornadoes are playing their home matches away from home at the neutral ground of Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna due to the non-approval of the Niger Stadium for NPFL matches.

Smarting from their away 0-0 draw against the free-scoring Gombe United in the rescheduled Match Day 6 NPFL fixtures at Pantami Stadium, the Benin Arsenals will aim for another win or at least a draw against the northern opposition.

Bendel Insurance, currently in the seventh position on the NPFL table, has emphasized the importance of targeting every point in the ongoing league.

However, for Bendel Insurance, one of its players will be making an emotional return home.

Young Bendel Insurance defender, Hussaini Abdullahi, is set to return to his roots as the Benin Arsenal faces Niger Tornadoes.

Abdullahi, who grew up in Minna and once proudly wore the jersey of the state's team, Niger Tornadoes, is now with Bendel Insurance.

Abdullahi, having played a pivotal role in Minna's state team, especially Niger Tornadoes B, embarked on a new chapter with Insurance prior to the start of last season.

As Abdullahi prepares to step onto the familiar turf where his football dreams took root, emotions are running high.

In an exclusive interview, Abdullahi shared his thoughts on this special occasion: "Returning to play against Niger Tornadoes brings a flood of memories.

"It's where my love for football blossomed, and playing against Niger Tornadoes feels like a twist of fate. I owe a lot to this city, and every step on that pitch will be a tribute to my footballing journey."

Niger Tornadoes will host Bendel Insurance at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Sunday at 4 pm.

Head to head: Two games between both sides have ended in a draw.
