2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 3: Bendel Insurance Seek Home Response Against Unbeaten Kun Khalifat

Bendel Insurance will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome unbeaten Kun Khalifat FC to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City for a Match Day 3 encounter in the 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Benin Arsenals began the campaign on a positive note, defeating Warri Wolves 2-1 at home, but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Nasarawa United on Match Day 2.

With home advantage restored, Kennedy Boboye’s side will be eager to put that setback behind them and strengthen their early-season campaign with another victory in front of their supporters.

Kun Khalifat, however, arrive in Benin City unbeaten after securing consecutive goalless draws against Abia Warriors and Barau FC.

The Owerri-based side may not have found the back of the net in their opening two matches, but their ability to remain defensively compact could present a different challenge for Insurance.

The encounter therefore sets up a battle between a Bendel Insurance side seeking a response and a Kun Khalifat team still searching for its first goal of the season.

Insurance currently sit ninth in the league table with three points, while Kun Khalifat are 12th with two points.

For Boboye, the match also carries a personal milestone, with the coach expected to take charge of his 25th game as Bendel Insurance head coach. He has recorded 10 wins, 10 draws and four defeats in his previous 24 matches in charge.

The Benin Arsenals will also draw confidence from their opening home performance against Warri Wolves, when goals from their attack secured a 2-1 victory.

Kun Khalifat, meanwhile, will hope their disciplined start can translate into a breakthrough in attack as they attempt to register their first win of the campaign.

The visitors will need to withstand the expected pressure from an Insurance side playing in front of its home crowd, while the hosts must find a way past a defence that has yet to concede in two league outings.

The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, with referee Oluwatobi Mojeed appointed to officiate. The game will also be broadcast live on the NPFL YouTube channel.

With both sides having contrasting priorities, Insurance will be chasing three points to keep pace with the leading pack, while Kun Khalifat will be seeking to turn their promising defensive start into a first victory and, perhaps, their first goal of the season.
