Posted : 14 April 2024

Ben Akwuegbu FC star, Habib Adedayo, who announced himself in spectacular fashion in the just-concluded NLO pre-season tournament in Jos where he emerged as the top scorer with 9 goals, appears to be attracting interest from European clubs.

The young striker, in demand, has left no one in doubt of his incredible goal-scoring ability after shining brightly during the State FA Cup.

At the moment, two European clubs in Austria and Slovenia are seriously monitoring developments concerning the young striker with the hope of striking a potential deal soon.

SK Sturm Graz, which is an Austrian professional association football club based in Graz, Styria, playing in the Austrian Football Bundesliga, is one of the possible destinations for Habib Adedayo.

Sturm Graz, founded in 1909, has a 16,364 capacity stadium called Merkur Arena.

The club was champions of the Austrian Football Bundesliga on three occasions, in 1998, 1999, and 2011, and were runners-up eight times, including last season.

They have participated in the UEFA Champions League three times and eleven times in the UEFA Cup.

They currently sit 2nd on the table with 46 points behind leaders Salzburg with 50.

SK Sturm Graz currently has players from different nationalities including Scotland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Denmark, Ghana, among others, and Habib Adedayo could be the only Nigerian to don the black and white colors of the club.

Another European club showing interest in Habib Adedayo is NK Maribor.

NK Maribor is a Slovenian professional football club based in Maribor, Slovenia, competing in the Slovenian top-flight league, PrvaLiga.

Also known as "The Purples", the club was founded in December 1960, and they are regarded as the symbol of Slovenian football.

The Purples currently sit 3rd on the log with 52 points behind 2nd placed Olimpija with 57 points and leaders Celje with 69 points.

Maribor is the only Slovenian club that reached the group stage of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

They have won a record 16 Slovenian PrvaLiga titles, 9 Slovenian Cups, and 4 Slovenian Supercups.

Maribor currently has players of different nationalities including France, Japan, Lithuania, Algeria, Cote d' Ivoire, among others, and Habib Adedayo could be the only Nigerian to don their colors.
