Bella targets Federation Cup glory after Crown FC defeat Cynosure FC

Posted : 22 May 2026

Crown FC goalkeeper Abel Oyelami, fondly called “Bella”, has declared that the Ajilete Warriors are fully focused on winning the President Federation Cup following their impressive Round of 64 victory over Cynosure FC at the Prince Abubakar Audu Sports Complex in Anyigba, Kogi State.

The Ogbomoso-based side continued its strong run of form with another composed performance, extending the momentum built from their successful outing in the Oyo State Federation Cup. Crown FC had earlier defeated Ibadan United 2–0 in the semifinal before edging Shooting Stars on penalties after a 1–1 draw to emerge state champions.

Against Cynosure FC, Crown FC wasted little time asserting dominance as Ebenezer Odeyemi opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Samuel Akpan added the second goal to seal a comfortable victory.

Bella played a crucial role in the encounter, producing important saves and organising the defence effectively to help Crown FC keep another clean sheet and safely progress into the Round of 32.

Speaking after the match, the shot stopper expressed satisfaction with the team’s display and insisted that the players are determined to go all the way in the competition.

According to him, Crown FC possesses the quality, confidence, and fighting spirit required to overcome any opponent in the tournament.

He also assured supporters that the team would remain focused and committed ahead of the next round while appreciating fans for their continued encouragement and support throughout the campaign.

The clinical triumph ensures the Ogbomoso-based side maintains its impressive momentum moving deeper into the national tournament. With the players locked in on their ultimate objective, the Ajilete Warriors look prepared to test their mettle against the remaining field. Supporters can expect continued intensity as the squad advances to the upcoming Round of 32 fixtures.
