Bayelsa United stunned at home by Enyimba International

Bayelsa United FC welcomed unwanted visitors at home as the defending champions, Enyimba International FC, ran away with a 2-1 victory at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.


Enyimba International stunned their hosts, last-placed Bayelsa United, 2-1, climbing one place to 4th.


The Peoples Elephant got their first goal through substitute Ekene Awazie with his first kick of the game.


The Finidi George-tutored team made three substitutes: Chibuike Nwaiwu, Ekene Awazie, Pascal Eze, who came in for Somiari Alalibo, Elijah Akanni, and Chidiebere Nnachi.


The hosts, however, got their goal in the 72nd minute.


Chijioke Mbaoma made no mistake from the spot for the winning goal for the Peoples Elephant.
