Bayelsa United Appoints Ebi Avi as Media Adviser, Set to Unveil New Technical Crew

Bayelsa United Football Club has appointed veteran sports journalist and former National Vice Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Ebi Avi, as its new Media Adviser with immediate effect.

The appointment was announced by the club's management board alongside plans to unveil a new technical crew on Thursday, July 16, during the weekly Prosperity Morning Walk at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

According to the board, the new technical crew emerged after a rigorous and transparent selection process involving eight shortlisted coaches.

The interview exercise was conducted by a panel of technical experts headed by former Nigerian international, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee member, and FIFA instructor, Edema Fuludu.

The board described the unveiling of the coaching team as a major milestone in its efforts to rebuild the club and restore Bayelsa United to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

It added that the appointments form part of a broader restructuring programme initiated by the Bayelsa State Government to reposition the club for improved performance and sustainable success.

The management reaffirmed its commitment to delivering on its mandate, stating that it had been working tirelessly to lay a solid foundation for the club's revival.

The board also appealed to football stakeholders and supporters across the state to rally behind its vision, expressing confidence that Bayelsa United would soon regain its place among Nigeria's top-flight clubs.

The appointments mark the beginning of a new chapter for Bayelsa United as the club intensifies preparations for the new season. With a restructured management approach and a new technical crew, the club will be hoping to secure a swift return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
