Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 LaLiga season with a 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano, as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha both scored twice.
Rayo stunned the home crowd by taking the lead through Sergio Camello, who finished Álvaro García’s cross in the 12th minute. Barcelona responded almost immediately, with Raphinha restoring parity before Yamal completed the turnaround with a superb strike from outside the box.
Yamal’s goal was particularly significant as it brought the 19-year-old to 50 goals for Barcelona. He reached the landmark at a younger age than Lionel Messi, further underlining the teenager’s remarkable development at the Catalan club.
Raphinha continued to demonstrate his impressive early-season form. Operating in an advanced role, the Brazilian produced a composed finish for his first goal before later adding another to take his league tally to five goals after three matches.
Barcelona increased their advantage shortly after halftime when Florian Lejeune turned Anthony Gordon’s delivery into his own net. Rayo refused to surrender, however, as Camello headed in his second goal of the night to make it 3-2 and briefly give the visitors hope of a comeback.
The hosts eventually put the result beyond doubt. Gordon produced a clever backheel to set up Raphinha for his second goal, while Yamal added another late in the game following a pass from Karim Adeyemi. His second finish completed a memorable night for the teenager and sealed Barcelona’s third straight league victory.
The victory leaves Hansi Flick’s side with nine points from three matches and at the top of LaLiga on goal difference. Despite conceding twice, Barcelona’s attacking strength once again proved decisive.
