Barau FC head coach, Ladan Bosso, will make a sentimental return to Umuahia as his team faces Abia Warriors in Matchday 10 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Bosso, who once managed the Umuahia-based club, now seeks to engineer their defeat as he leads his rejuvenated Maliya Boys into what promises to be an exciting and fiercely contested match.

The visitors arrive in Abia buoyed by a remarkable 2-1 comeback victory over Kano Pillars in Kano, a result that has lifted spirits and reinforced belief within the squad.

“The morale in camp is high after the Pillars game,” Bosso said. “The players are starting to understand our playing style, and that gives us a lot of motivation heading into this weekend.”

Despite his deep ties with Abia Warriors, Bosso emphasized that sentiment will play no role during the match.

“Umuahia feels like a second home because of my time with Abia Warriors,” he admitted. “But now, I’m coming as a rival. We respect them, but we’re focused on our mission. We have our plans, and we’ll execute them.”
