2025/2026 NPFL Season: Barau FC Denies Allegations Against Club's GM Iorfa

Posted : 10 March 2026

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Barau FC, has dismissed the allegations of harassment and abuse leveled against its General Manager, Dominic Iorfa, describing the claims as baseless and an attempt to tarnish the image of the club.

In a statement released by the club’s management, Barau FC said that the reports circulating in some quarters are false and do not reflect the true working relationship among the club’s officials.

The club further noted that Iorfa is a well-known football administrator who has maintained a good relationship with players, coaches, and other members of staff since he began his administrative career in football.

The club also rejected claims that the General Manager is running the club through a small group of close associates, explaining that the club’s structure remains intact and that the leadership continues to work collectively with all staff members to improve performance and ensure the club’s progress.

Regarding the issue of the reported suspension of some individuals, the club stated that Barau FC operates strictly in accordance with established rules and regulations, and that anyone found guilty of misconduct will face disciplinary action as stipulated by the club’s guidelines.

The management also described attempts to link Iorfa to a past dispute with the Benue State Government as a deliberate effort to spread misleading information.

According to the club, it is public knowledge that Iorfa previously accused the Benue State Government of owing him money he personally spent while running a club during his time working in the state.

The matter, the club added, is still unresolved and has no connection with the current allegations being circulated.

Finally, Barau FC urged the public and media organizations to always verify information before publishing it, in order to avoid damaging the reputation of individuals and institutions.

The club reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its activities with professionalism, transparency, and dedication toward the development of football.

The public is also advised to avoid spreading rumors and false reports that could damage the reputation of respected individuals. As the saying goes, when the ear hears, the body should be cautious.
