Barau FC have expressed deep appreciation to football stakeholders and supporters in Kano State following what the club described as a historic and successful 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
The Maliya Boys rounded off their impressive season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nasarawa United on Sunday, 24 May 2026, securing an eighth-place finish on the NPFL table — the highest achievement in the club’s history.
Speaking after the conclusion of the season, the club’s General Manager, Dominic Iorfa, credited the success to the collective efforts and unwavering support received from various individuals and organizations throughout the campaign.
Iorfa reserved special praise for the club’s Grand Patron and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, CFR, whose commitment and passion for football continued to inspire and strengthen the club.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the club President, Shawall Barau Jibrin, Talban Kabo, applauding his leadership qualities, dedication, and continuous support towards the growth of the club.
Barau FC further appreciated the Kano State Football Association led by Alhaji Dr. Shariff Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan for its support during the season, while also recognizing football stakeholders across Kano State for their encouragement and contributions.
The Nigerian Coaches Association, Kano State Chapter, under the leadership of Barrister Ibrahim Gwadabe, was also commended for providing valuable guidance and support to the club’s technical crew.
The club did not leave out members of the media, as Iorfa praised the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, led by Malam Zahraddeen Saleh, alongside media organizations and journalists for their professionalism and commitment to promoting football development in the state and across the country.
Special recognition was equally given to security personnel, club stewards, supporters, and fans for their loyalty and dedication throughout the season.
Iorfa also applauded the coaching crew led by Head Coach Eugene Agagbe, as well as the players, management, officials, and backroom staff for their resilience, professionalism, and sacrifices that helped the club maintain a strong league position.
The club’s media department was equally praised for its outstanding role in projecting Barau FC’s activities and achievements both within Kano State and nationwide.
Describing the season as unforgettable, Iorfa reaffirmed the club’s determination to build on its success and challenge strongly for honours in this year’s President Federation Cup.
