Nigeria’s U15 boys’ team, the Future Eagles, will begin preparations for the FIFA U15 Youth World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan with 23 players invited to camp by Head Coach Patrick Bassey.

The competition is scheduled to hold in Baku, the Azerbaijani capital, from Oct. 22 to Oct. 31, providing the young Nigerian players with an opportunity to showcase their talents on the international stage.

The invited players are expected to report to the NFF/FIFA Goal Project Hostel inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with appropriate football boots for artificial-turf training and matches.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has advised state football associations, clubs, academies, schools, and parents or guardians of the selected players to personally bring them to the camp.

Bassey, a respected youth developer currently associated with Bichi First FC, will lead the preparations with the assistance of Husaini Lawan Umar and Augustine Iyamu.

The 23-man list features two goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards drawn from various grassroots football institutions, academies, clubs, and schools across the country.

The selection reflects a broad spread of youth football talent, with players from Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, and Jos among those invited.
