The decision follows the dismissal and suspension of former Technical Adviser Evans Ogenyi and Chief Coach Ahmed Garba due to the team’s underwhelming performances in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
In a statement issued by the club’s Media and Communications Directorate in Kano, it was announced that Babaganaru’s appointment takes immediate effect, with management expressing full confidence in his ability to restore the team’s fortunes.
“We wish Coach Babaganaru success in his new role as he leads the team in the upcoming fixtures,” the statement read in part.
Babaganaru, who previously guided Kano Pillars to two NPFL titles, is widely regarded as one of the club’s most successful coaches. His return is expected to bring stability and renewed motivation to both players and supporters.
The appointment comes as Kano Pillars prepare for a crucial stretch of 10 league matches in Katsina, following the club’s temporary suspension from playing at home due to crowd disturbances during their match against Shooting Stars.
