Aston Villa secure signing of promising 2006-born Nigerian midfielder

Premier League side Aston Villa has officially announced the acquisition of Jamaldeen Jimoh, a 2006-born Nigerian-descendant central midfielder, through an official statement on their website.
Aston Villa's academy manager, Mark Harrison, acknowledged the intense competition for Jimoh's signature before he committed to the club.
Despite interest from prominent teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City, Jimoh chose to join Aston Villa, and while he arrives as a free agent, his former club West Brom is entitled to compensation due to his U24 status and the scholarship deal he was offered.
Initially, Jimoh will commence his Aston Villa journey with their U18 squad, yet he retains eligibility for participation in the Premier League 2. He will also be registered as a scholar/U21 player on Aston Villa's Premier League roster.
Having already engaged in U18s football during his time at West Brom as a schoolboy, the 16-year-old is known for his adept ball control and impact within both penalty areas.
Jimoh's competitive debut for Aston Villa U18s occurred in an U18 Premier League clash against Chelsea on August 26.
