AS Real de Bamako and Karfamoriah FC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the West Africa Champions Cup on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Stade M’Ballou Mady Diakité in Kankan. The result extended Karfamoriah FC’s unbeaten run in the competition while giving AS Real a valuable point.
The opening half was closely contested, with both teams well organized and cautious in possession. Karfamoriah gradually began to take greater control of the game and created more attacking pressure as the half progressed.
The hosts eventually found the breakthrough in first-half stoppage time. Amadou Mansaré produced a powerful effort from the edge of the area, which the AS Real goalkeeper could only parry. Zézé Junior Onipogui reacted quickest to the loose ball and followed up to put Karfamoriah ahead in the 45th+3 minute.
AS Real returned from the break with greater attacking intent and eventually found their equalizer in the 66th minute. Yoro Diawara finished an attacking move to bring the Malian side level at 1-1.
Karfamoriah responded almost immediately. Just three minutes after conceding, Mohamed Lamine Condé restored the Guinean side’s advantage with a superb volley that put the hosts 2-1 ahead.
AS Real refused to surrender, however, and continued searching for another opening. Their persistence paid off in the 80th minute when Moussa Coulibaly found the back of the net to make it 2-2.
The final stages remained intense, but neither side could produce a winning goal. Karfamoriah therefore maintained its unbeaten record, while AS Real showed considerable resilience after twice falling behind.
The draw also underlined the competitive nature of the 2026 WACC, which is being staged in Kankan as a major pre-season tournament for clubs preparing for their respective African campaigns.
