Arsenal Prioritise New Mikel Arteta Contract After Premier League Triumph

Arsenal FC are preparing to open contract talks with manager Mikel Arteta after guiding the club to their first Premier League title in 22 years. Co-chair Josh Kroenke described extending Arteta’s stay as the club’s main objective following a historic campaign.

Arteta’s current deal runs until the end of next season, although the Spaniard recently reaffirmed his commitment to Arsenal and the long-term project at the club. Kroenke praised the manager’s impact, highlighting his deep connection with Arsenal dating back to his playing days in North London.

According to Kroenke, Arteta has played the leading role in transforming Arsenal into champions again. He credited the manager, his coaching staff and the players for rebuilding the squad and restoring the club to the top of English football.

Arsenal’s remarkable season could become even more memorable this weekend when they take on Paris Saint-Germain FC in the UEFA Champions League final. Victory would secure the club’s first-ever European Cup triumph and cap off one of the greatest campaigns in Arsenal’s history.

Despite the possibility of additional revenue from Champions League success, Kroenke stressed that the club’s transfer strategy will not depend on the result of the final. Arsenal are still expected to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window as they look to remain competitive domestically and in Europe.

Kroenke explained that sustained success requires constant improvement, warning that rival clubs across the Premier League will continue to invest heavily. He said Arsenal understand the importance of evolving each season rather than becoming complacent after winning major trophies.

The club’s leadership believes reinforcing the squad is essential if Arsenal are to defend their league crown and continue competing with Europe’s elite teams in the years ahead.
