Ancelotti warns Real Madrid against complacency ahead of Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich

Carlo Ancelotti emphasized Real Madrid's focus and respect for Bayern Munich ahead of their Champions League semifinal clash, despite Bayern's underwhelming domestic season. Ancelotti acknowledged Bayern's strength and labeled them as a "dangerous" opponent, warning his team against complacency despite being favorites to progress to the final at Wembley.

 

Speaking at a news conference, Ancelotti highlighted Bayern's capabilities, citing their strong performance against Arsenal in the previous round as evidence of their quality. He emphasized the need for Madrid to maintain concentration and determination to achieve their goal of reaching the final, recognizing Bayern's proficiency in different playing styles and transitions.

 

In response to Thomas Tuchel's assertion that Bayern would have "no chance" if the tie came down to the experience of the two managers, Ancelotti praised Tuchel as a tactical genius. However, Ancelotti stressed that ultimately, the outcome of the match rests on the players' performance on the pitch. Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde echoed Ancelotti's sentiments, emphasizing the need to respect Bayern's history and quality as they aim to secure victory and advance to the final.
