Kun Khalifat FC’s defensive stalwart, Ameh Joseph, has been named the club’s Player of the Month for May 2025, following a string of outstanding performances that solidified his reputation as one of the best defenders in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The central defender, widely known for his commanding presence and consistency, was a pillar at the back for the Owerri-based club throughout May. Ameh played every minute of the club’s four matches in the month, 360 minutes of action and emerged a clear fan favorite in Coach Obinna Uzoho’s squad.
Ameh's numbers tell the story of his dominance:
His performance not only earned him individual plaudits but also helped Kun Khalifat FC qualify for the NNL Super 8 Playoffs, as the team currently boasts the best defensive record in the league, having conceded just 12 goals with one regular-season match left.
His partnership with fellow center-back Iwuorie Alukam has become the backbone of the team’s success, earning the club the nickname “The Oba Boys” and a reputation for being extremely difficult to break down.
The Player of the Month award, which comes with a cash prize and a commemorative plaque, is part of the club's efforts to motivate players and reward excellence.
With the NNL Super 8 looming, Ameh’s leadership and form will be critical as Kun Khalifat FC eyes promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
