Despite those hardships, he credits his parents for providing support and maintaining a positive family environment.

Growing up, he also faced racism and discrimination both at school and on the football pitch. Rather than allowing those experiences to define him, Al-Hamadi chose to focus on personal growth and his ambitions in football.

Life in his neighborhood exposed him to the dangers of crime and violence, and he admits there were moments when he could have taken a different path. Instead, football became his escape and source of purpose. Countless hours spent playing on local streets helped nurture the talent that would eventually carry him to the professional game.

His perseverance paid off as he progressed through the English football system, eventually becoming the first Iraqi player to feature in the Premier League when he appeared for Ipswich Town in 2024. He later continued his development on loan at Luton Town.

On the international stage, Al-Hamadi has become an important figure for Iraq. One of his standout moments came when he scored in a crucial World Cup qualifying playoff victory over Bolivia, helping his country secure a place at the tournament.

Although Iraq suffered defeat to France earlier in the competition, Al-Hamadi came close to finding the net and demonstrated the determination that has characterized his career.
