AIK Sign Nigerian Winger Oludase From Academy That Produced Brighton’s Zadok

Swedish Allsvenskan club AIK have signed Nigerian winger David Oluwaseyi Oludase from Ikon Allah Football Academy in Kaduna. The 18-year-old has agreed a contract running until December 31, 2029, with the club describing the agreement as a transfer player deal.

Oludase will initially join AIK's academy team despite signing an agreement structured as a first-team contract. The move follows a month-long trial during which the Nigerian trained with AIK's P19 side and senior team.

AIK's recruitment chief Miika Takkula praised Oludase's potential and attitude during the trial. He described the teenager as a technically gifted, left-footed right winger with good pace and a strong first touch.

Takkula also identified decision-making in the final third as an area for development. He said Oludase's positive attitude and commitment during his trial played an important role in the club's decision to sign him.

Oludase's move continues a growing connection between AIK and Ikon Allah Football Academy. The Kaduna-based academy previously produced Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna, who joined AIK in 2025 before making a major breakthrough in Sweden.

Yohanna moved to AIK after being discovered during a scouting trip to Nigeria. He quickly established himself in the Swedish top flight and attracted attention from clubs across Europe.

Brighton & Hove Albion subsequently agreed a five-year deal with Yohanna in June 2026. Brighton confirmed the transfer fee as undisclosed, while reports placed the initial fee at €28 million with a further €2 million in potential add-ons.

Yohanna made 18 appearances for AIK across league and cup competitions during his breakthrough 2026 campaign, scoring five goals and providing four assists before his move to the Premier League.

The success of Yohanna has placed greater attention on the Nigerian academy's ability to produce players capable of making the transition to European football. Oludase will now begin his own development journey in Sweden with AIK hoping he can follow a similar path.

AIK have already identified several qualities in the teenager that could help him progress. His left-footed ability from the right flank, pace and technical skills provide a foundation, while his development in the academy will give the club time to improve his decision-making and attacking efficiency.

For Oludase, the move represents his first major step into European football. He said signing for AIK was a significant moment in his career and expressed his eagerness to begin working with the club.
