Reigner FC stunned the home crowd just four minutes in when Akin Ola slotted home a low shot to give his side an early lead.
But Jordan FA responded swiftly. In the 22nd minute, Kehinde Suraju finished off a well-worked attacking move to level the scoreline and shift the momentum back in the hosts’ favour.
Suraju struck again in the 79th minute, tapping in from close range after a quick build-up play, securing all three points for Jordan FA and taking his tally for the season to four goals.
While Suraju’s brace was pivotal, it was goalkeeper Samson Samson who emerged as the hero of the day. The shot-stopper pulled off a series of crucial saves to keep Jordan FA in the game, earning him the Man of the Match award.
Speaking after the final whistle, Samson said,
"I give all the glory to God. My teammates also played a huge role in pushing me to give my best today. We fought for every ball.”
Jordan Haziel, CEO and founder of Jordan FA, lauded the team's spirit and resilience.
“It was a deserved win. The boys showed great character and hunger. This academy is not just about winning games, it’s about developing talent with global potential,” he said.
Haziel reiterated his call for strategic support and partnerships to help the academy continue its mission of grooming young footballers for professional careers both in Nigeria and internationally.
With the win, Jordan FA moved to 11 points, leapfrogging FC Bako and Reigner FC in the standings. The league continues to heat up as teams battle for supremacy in one of Nigeria’s most competitive grassroots football platforms.
