African POTY nominees: Osimhen vs Salah vs Hakimi for CAF

Victor Osimhen has earned a spot on the final list for the 2023 CAF African Men's Player of the Year Award. The competition includes Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and PSG's Achraf Hakimi.


Osimhen's outstanding performances over the last year contributed to Napoli winning the Scudetto under former manager Luciano Spalleti. He received accolades such as Serie A Best Striker, Paolo Rossi, and Italian Footballers' Association Player of the Year.


He is also a Ballon d'Or nominee and in contention for the Globe Soccer award. Hakimi played a crucial role in Morocco's historic FIFA World Cup semifinal appearance, and Salah's notable form for Liverpool is recognized.


Osimhen aims to be the first Nigerian in 24 years to clinch the African Men's Player of the Year title. The winner will be revealed on December 11 at the Awards Gala in Marrakech, Morocco.
