With qualification for the knockout rounds already secured, head coach Eric Chelle rotated his squad, pairing Victor Osimhen with Paul Onuachu in a 4-4-2 formation and giving Ryan Alebiosu his first senior start at right-back.
Uganda started brightly, pressing high and creating early chances, but Nigeria grew into the game and took control.
Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the 28th minute after a patient build-up finished by Dele-Bashiru’s assist.
The match tilted decisively in Nigeria’s favor when Uganda goalkeeper Jamal Salim was sent off for handling outside the area, leaving the Cranes with ten men.
Raphael Onyedika then showcased his quality with a brace, scoring in the 62nd and 67th minutes from Samuel Chukwueze’s clever passes.
Uganda managed a consolation goal through Mato, but Nigeria held firm to finish top of Group C with nine points. The performance underscored the team’s depth, with contributions from Onyedika, Chukwueze, Alebiosu, and Francis Uzoho offering assurance as the tournament moves into the knockout stages.
