Ademola Lookman Responds To Galatasaray Transfer Links Amid Victor Osimhen Speculation

Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has reportedly responded to growing speculation linking him with Turkish champions Galatasaray. The Istanbul-based giants are eager to bolster their attacking vanguard ahead of the upcoming 2026/2027 campaign. Reports from Turkish media outlet Aspor indicate that the club is highly keen on pairing the winger with his international teammate, Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has allegedly acted as an informal mediator to convince his fellow countryman to move to Turkey. The marquee striker reportedly sent a message telling Lookman that the squad is waiting to welcome him into their family. This potential partnership has generated immense excitement among Nigerian football fans who want to see both stars play together.

However, Lookman has adopted a highly professional stance regarding the intense summer transfer market rumours. The 27-year-old winger has instructed Galatasaray officials that they must first reach a formal financial agreement with Atlético Madrid. Personal terms and contract discussions can only proceed once both clubs find common ground regarding a transfer fee.

The African Footballer of the Year only moved to Spain in January 2026 from Italian side Atalanta. He enjoyed a strong start under manager Diego Simeone, recording nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances. Despite his fine form, reports suggest Atlético Madrid could evaluate major offers as they recalibrate their squad budget.

Galatasaray are currently reviewing the financial implications of the deal, with Lookman valued between €40 million and €50 million. Atlético Madrid might hesitate to sell because they have already lost key forwards like Antoine Griezmann this summer. The Turkish champions must now prepare an official bid to test the resolve of the Spanish giants.
