ABS Ilorin FC are set to begin full-scale preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season after concluding their player screening exercise.
The screening, which began on August 31 and ended on Thursday, September 17, was conducted under the supervision of Technical Adviser Festus Allen, with 35 players assessed during the exercise.
With the screening process completed, the Saraki Boys are expected to intensify preparations as they seek to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
ABS Ilorin FC will campaign in Conference D alongside established clubs, including Wikki Tourists, Lobi Stars, Mighty Jets, Yobe Desert Stars, Sokoto United and Bichi First, among others.
The club's technical team will now focus on shaping the squad while improving the team's fitness, tactical organisation and competitiveness ahead of the start of the new campaign.
The Saraki Boys will be aiming to make a strong impression in what promises to be a competitive conference, with promotion to the NPFL remaining a major objective.
Meanwhile, the club is also set to commence screening for its youth team as part of efforts to strengthen its developmental structure ahead of the new season.
