ABS Ilorin Begin Fresh NNL Campaign Drive with Aug. 28 Resumption

ABS Ilorin FC have set the wheels in motion for the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League season, fixing Friday, August 28, 2026, for the resumption of players as the club begins preparations for a new campaign.

The Saraki Boys are entering the season with renewed determination following the appointment of experienced tactician Festus Allen as the club’s new Technical Adviser.

Allen’s return is expected to bring fresh impetus to the team’s ambitions, with the Ilorin-based outfit targeting a stronger campaign and ultimately a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

According to the club’s schedule, full training will begin on Monday, August 31, as the technical crew starts work on building the squad and preparing the players for the demands of the new NNL season.

The club has also announced a two-week screening exercise as part of its pre-season programme, giving young and promising footballers the opportunity to compete for places in the squad.

Talented players from Kwara State and beyond have been encouraged to attend the screening and demonstrate their abilities before the technical team.

The recruitment drive is expected to provide ABS Ilorin with an opportunity to inject fresh talent into the squad while giving emerging players a platform to pursue their football ambitions.

The combination of an early resumption, intensive training and an open talent-screening programme signals the club’s determination to lay a solid foundation for the new season.

With Allen now at the helm of the technical team, expectations will be high among supporters as ABS Ilorin FC seek to build a competitive side capable of challenging for promotion.
