2026/2027 NPFL: Abia Warriors Target Revival Against Struggling Doma United

Posted : 07 November 2026

Abia Warriors will be hoping to revive their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign when they welcome Doma United on Sunday, with home advantage and the return of key players expected to boost their chances.

The Umuahia-based club will host the Savannah Tigers at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba in a Matchday 12 encounter, with both sides eager to put their recent disappointing results behind them.

Abia Warriors head into the fixture under pressure after suffering successive league defeats, a run of poor results that has brought them dangerously close to the relegation zone.

The hosts will therefore view Sunday's clash as an important opportunity to stop their slide, rebuild confidence and collect crucial points before their situation becomes more difficult.

Technical Adviser Imama Amapakabo will receive a boost with the return of Effimi Nsi and Tochukwu Stephen, who are both available again after recovering from their respective setbacks.

However, Wilson Elu remains sidelined with an injury and will not be available for selection.

The Warriors also have an encouraging recent record against Doma United, having secured two victories, one draw and one defeat in their last four meetings.

Despite that advantage, the hosts cannot afford to underestimate their opponents, who are equally determined to end their disappointing run of results.

Doma United will travel to Aba looking to break a three-match winless streak. The Savannah Tigers have recorded consecutive draws in their last two matches, both played at home, and will now be aiming to turn those results into a positive performance on the road.

However, they face a difficult assignment against an Abia Warriors side desperate to respond in front of its home supporters.

With both clubs struggling to maintain consistency, Sunday's meeting could have significant implications for their immediate league ambitions.

For Abia Warriors, securing maximum points would not only improve their position in the standings but also provide a much-needed confidence boost as they look to move further away from the relegation battle.

The Warriors will host Doma United on Sunday, November 8, at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, with both teams determined to secure a positive result.
